Whitney Wolfe Herd Makes The Foster Sisters An Important Part Of Bumble

Whitney Wolfe Herd’s Bumble app has gained the ability to move even further ahead in the market. Sara and Erin Foster are now Bumble Bizz and Bumble BFF’s new creative heads. These represent the networks networking and friendship arms. Although Bumble began as a dating app, the platform for Bumble Bizz was released in October. Whitney Wolfe Herd and the Fosters have already started working on new ideas. This includes panels, television shows, and partnerships with companies led by women.

Whitney Wolfe Herd had no intention of hiring two new employees until she heard Sara and Erin Foster talk about their careers. She had invited them to the Women in Entertainment panel, and their words were kismet. Although the sisters were meant to speak of their entertainment careers, and the time Erin spent as a screenwriter, the subject shifted to the friendships between women and the ways they motivate and come together regarding business. Whitney Wolfe Herd admits to being blown away by the passion of the sisters, and their genuine excitement about Bumbles mission. She decided she simply could not live without them.

Sara and Erin are well known for their appearance on Barely Famous and their satirical portrait of Hollywood. They are both thrilled to bring new ideas to Bumble. According to Sara Foster, an opportunity like this does not come along very often. The sisters share a passion for what Whitney Wolfe Herd and Bumble have done for women, and Sara feels it’s all about inclusion. Erin stated she sees Bumble as a way for women to be clever, creative and find friends and men who deserve to be a part of the conversation. She thinks this is exactly what Bumble encourages.

Sara and Erin are both impressed and inspired by their new boss. Erin believes the CEO is a direct reflection of the product, and that Whitney Wolf Herd has a mission, yet never appears overcompensating in her actions. She believes just watching her has a positive effect. Sara says she is simply humble, a great boss, and feels genuine happiness when other women are successful. Whitney Wolf Herd says before they officially began, the sisters were already discussing a thousand ideas. She was not looking for anyone famous to attach to, just someone who would use their passion to rally for the brand. This turned out to be the Foster sisters, and they appear to be a perfect fit.

Sujit Choudhry Offiering Assistance to Help Resolve the Catalonia Crisis

The Center for Constitutional Transitions is an organization that can offer evidence-based constitutional options and aid reviewing laws and regulations thanks to the company’s experts in the field of comparative law and comparative constitutional law. The organization was founded by one such field expert, Mr. Sujit Choudhry, who is still holding the position as the organization’s Director. As a world-renowned legal expert, he attended the conference in Kiev, Ukraine.  To learn more about his outstanding achievements, check law.nyu.edu.

Recently, Mr. Sujit Choudhry assisted Spain as well as, as several scholars in constitutional law wrote an open letter to the country’s government and that of Catalan in order to offer some help and guidance with the ongoing crisis in Catalonia. The open letter implored both the Spanish and Catalan parties to engage in a dialogue in order to start amending the situation and subdue the crisis.  Click on iconnectblog.com to read a relevant interview of the professor.

The Catalonia Independence Vote earlier this year stirred up the most prominent dispute between Spin and Catalonia in more than 40 years. The supporters of independence for the region have proclaimed Catalonia as a republic. That prompted the Spanish government to impose direct rule on the autonomous region.

If Catalonia wants to be a viable country of its own independent from Spain, then that creates the matter of borders. In the open letter co-authored by Sujit Choudhry, the experts ask both sides to meet and talk about the wellbeing of the people within the two party’s borders. The open letter called for a peaceful dialogue to clear the questions of the citizens.

Part of the reasons why the experts penned the open letter to the two governments is because of Spain’s actions. The state of Spain resorted to brutality in order to prevent the Catalan from holding a referendum on the independence of Catalonia. That only made the already tense situation even more fragile.  Additional article to read on works.bepress.com.

The people of Catalonia are not united on the matter of independence from Spain, and so the situation is not yet resolved in the slightest. The Catalan president is engaging in dialogue with Spain, and thus the discussions will most likely continue over the first few months of next year.  For his recent timeline activities, hit on crunchbase.com.

Professor Sujit Choudhry Urges a Constitutional Resolution to the Question of Catalonian Independence

In September of this year, Catalonia attempted to hold a vote on secession from Spain. The government in Madrid responded to the referendum by sending security forces to suppress voting. Catalonia generates one-fifth of Spain’s economic output.

Spain has resorted to violence to check the secessionist movement. In response to the crisis a University of California, Berkeley Professor of Law Sujit Choudhry became one of three Constitutional law scholars who authored an appeal for a peaceful and democratic solution to the issue of Catalonian independence. Choudhry has guided nine pledging democracies in constructing their constitutions. He is a founding director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions.

The missive asks Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy not to suppress the rights of Catalonians who support independence. Catalonia’s President Carles Puigdemont was asked to demonstrate that he is in earnest when it comes to Catalonian independence.

The letter warns that anything other than a peaceful democratic resolution will have repercussions across Europe. If Spain’s oppression of Catalonia continues the principles upon which the European Union was formed could be undone.

The three constitutional scholars expressed the belief that only a fairly conducted referendum can establish the true attitudes of the majority of Catalonians with regards to independence. The letter suggests that even if the majority do not support a complete break with Spain Catalonians might support a less extreme solution to the current situation.

It was pointed out that PM Rajoy’s continued violations of the rights of Catalonian separatist are in direct violation of International Law and that the Prime Minister’s actions are an offense against Catalonia sovereignty.   A relevant article to read on patch.com.

In closing the missive stated that PM Rajoy must accept Catalonia’s independence if it is the wish of the majority of its people. Secondly, if Spain’s program of oppression in Catalonia continues then oppression and violence will become the only way Spain can retain control over Catalonia. End Citizens United Fingers Another Meddler In The 2016 Elections Other Than The Russians

Everyone by now has heard about the much trumpeted “Russian collusion” scandal which has swirled about the 2016 US presidential elections like a dark maelstrom.

Most of the allegations concern a Russian company which bought and paid for a lavish amount of political ads which were then posted on the social media platform, Facebook and were believed to have contributed to the election of Donald J. Trump. This opened up a bevy of investigations into Trump and his cabinet and associates supposed connection to The Kremlin and Vladimir Putin himself.

However, according to, End Citizens United, or ECU – a very well known political action committee, dedicated to overturning the momentous Citizens United v. FEC ruling which allowed dark money pools to overtake the American political process – the Russians are not the only culprits in the meddling which took place during the 2016 elections. Indeed, according to the group, a congregation of various and shadowy Chinese foreign nationals manipulated and abused legal loopholes to donate a substantial amount of money, reportedly a sizable 1.3 million dollars, to none other than presidential candidate Jeb Bush. End Citizens United largely blamed the FEC (The Federal Election Commission) for the meddling, citing their security protocols and legislative measures as “outdated.”

Though the candidate with the most money does not always win, as was the case with the 2016 election, there is a certain threshold of cash which everyone simply must have to run a viable campaign. Furthermore, it is not just money itself that moves campaigns forwards but also influence peddling and meddling, such as the previously mentioned Russian Facebook ads. In light of these facts, End Citizens United strongly urged the Federal Election Commission to step up to the plate and take responsibility for what they have done to compromise the security of the American electoral process by allowing political contributions to be classified as “speech” which is thus, protected. The Democratic Party have also taken steps to secure the electoral process such as the DISCLOSE act as well as the Get Foreign Money Out of Politics Act and, just like End Citizens United, they also look to overturn the Citizens United v. FEC supreme court ruling that opened the floodgates to begin with in 2010.

The Rise in Medical Care Cost by Eric Lefkofsky

Health care costs in the U.S. have escalated due to patients requiring intensive and expensive medical care. A rise in population and aging are also other factors affecting the costs as demand for health care services prevails. However, mitigation of some diseases has resulted in less need of frequent medical services and thus lowering annual spending.

According to Gerard Anderson, a researcher at Bloomberg School of Public Health, prices of medical care directly results into higher spending. Looking at different diseases, though, there are several factors that lead to individual increase. For diabetes alone, it has the greatest increase in medical care costs, with $64 billion spent yearly. This rise has been facilitated by aging, population growth and high costs of pharmaceuticals along with prevalence of the disease.

Despite best efforts to reduce spending, inpatient care costs have still plummeted even with short hospital stays. Outpatient care for all diseases has also risen as some patients avoid hospitalization. However, the value purchased for the care and pharmaceuticals cannot be justified.

Born in 1969, Eric Lefkofsky is the CEO and co-founder of Tempus – a technology company that provides personalized cancer information by storing clinical and molecular data. He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from University of Michigan. As a businessman, he has co-founded other ventures including Echo Global Logistics, InnerWorkings and Lightbank serving in different roles.

After venturing into business, Eric Lefkofsky commenced a teaching career in Michigan area. Currently, he is an adjunct professor at Chicago University School of Business teaching entrepreneurship and technology-based courses. Eric has also published a book that details how business is affected by technology, titled Accelerated Disruption. He and his wife started Lefkofsky Foundation in 2006. The foundation serves as a charitable trust and supports scientific and educational organizations around the world. With its main focus on children, the foundation has funded over 50 organizations.

Sujit Choudhry Joins Top Constitutional Law Scholars in Offering a Solution to the Catalonia Crisis

With a shared goal of helping to address the current crisis in Catalonia, Sujit Choudhry teamed up with renowned constitutional law scholars. Choudhry and his team wrote an open letter addressed to the Spanish and Catalan governments regarding the ongoing crisis. They advised the two governments to meet and carry out dialogue regarding the constitutional issues that affect them.

The constitutional law scholars also asked the president of Catalonia to organize a referendum with the interests of the Catalan people at hand. As expressed in the letter, the scholars believe that this referendum could show the Catalonian president’s abidance to the process of seceding from Spain. The open letter also advised Spain’s prime minister to come to terms with the fact that the Catalan people desire to have secession.

Sujit Choudhry and his team requested the prime minister of Spain to put a stop to his unfriendly ways of handling the Catalans. The scholars believe that the crisis is likely to be intensified by the cruelty of the Spain government towards the Catalans. They are certain that the crisis can be stopped when the two governments agree to peacefully engage in a constitutional dialogue with the interests of the Catalans at hand. Zoran Oklopcic, Robert Howse, and Asanga Welikala were among the constitutional law scholars that Choudhry teamed up with to write the letter.   Read more of his views on politically related issues in this link on iconnectblog.com.
