On July 10, 2017, a meeting took place between a team of the country’s top experts on the Constitution of the United States and Sujit Choudhry, Director of the Center for Constitutional Transitions. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss a number of current events related either directly or indirectly to the United States Constitution. These subjects included Constitutional challenges presently facing the current system as well as the system of government in operation in the Ukraine. On this particular topic, Choudhry voiced his concerns that the process of democratization in the Ukraine has not been a particularly safe or stable one. He underlined his statement by pointing out the weakened state of Ukrainian political parties,the focus of it’s presidential power, electoral system law and rules, and other points of concern. Choudhry indicated his pleasure at having the privilege of discussing these and other subjects related to executive powers with such an esteemed group of experts.
